Friday, May 15th, 2026: Funtasticks - (10:00 AM-1:30 PM) Students enjoy the morning at Funtasticks. The cost will be $20, which will include unlimited use of all facilities, bumper boats, laser tag, and go carts. Students may bring extra money for snacks or arcade games. Payment can be made via card, cash, check, or money order made out to La Cima Middle School to the front office for payment. Students WILL NOT be allowed to attend if they have been chronically absent, have received a behavioral referral, hold a GPA below 2.0, or have marks of “D”,“F”, “U”, “N” in any class (including electives).

Friday, May 15th, 2026: 8th Grade Promotion Dance (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) This is a casual dance for LCMS 8th graders ONLY. Free food will be provided by the Student Council. Attire for the dance will be casual, yet school-appropriate, as the school dress code will apply for the event. Students who have had behavior referrals or an “F” in any class (including electives) WILL NOT be allowed to attend the dance.

Wednesday, May 20th, 2025: Promotion (7:30 AM- 8:30 AM) We’ll recognize the accomplishments of our students and wish them well as they are promoted. AJ Malis, the principal of AHS, will welcome them to high school. Students should arrive on campus no later than 7:00 AM and report directly to their assigned preparation area. The school’s normal dress code regarding the appropriateness of clothing will remain in effect. Students are encouraged to dress nicely but not to spend large amounts of money on fancy clothing. Students will be dismissed after the ceremony to allow families to celebrate further. 6th or 7th-grade siblings may attend the ceremony only if their parent has first signed them out in the front office. Dress code applies and will be enforced. If your student has a question about their promotion outfit, or your student has a need for an outfit, have them contact Mr. Humphreys or Mrs. Guymon. Additionally, due to the occupancy capacity restriction of the La Cima MPR, each promoting student will be provided with 4 guest entrance tickets to the event.

We are excited about the year-end events and want our students to participate in them fully. However, sometimes 8th graders “forget” that we still have a significant part of the year remaining in terms of work and discipline. We want to support our students throughout the remainder of the Spring Semester by reminding them of our high academic and behavioral expectations. Consequently, please remind your Cardinal that these events are not a right, but a privilege. If students are removed from class, receive a referral for misbehavior, or break school/district rules, they may be removed from any or all of these activities.
